David Garland

David Garland joined Silver Leaf Partners in October 2019 and has over 20 years of experience in capital markets. In New York City, David started with Deloitte’s Financial Services Practice, moving to AIG’s financial restructuring group during the height of the financial crisis. David ran for the New York State Senate and the New York City Council with a platform focused on resurrecting the New York economy and putting an end to the housing crisis. Since that time he has remained focused on the real estate markets, running a New York-based, ESG-focused real estate development firm, and with Silver Leaf provides innovative connections between real estate and the capital markets. David has worked with JPMC, Goldman Sachs, Sovereign Wealth Funds, Institutional Investors and Private Fund Managers to allocate real estate investment capital. David also has extensive experience overseas, having spent significant time in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Karachi, Paris and Sydney, and works with numerous international clients seeking alternative asset placements.
David received his MBA from the Wharton School, MA from the University of Pennsylvania and his BS from Georgetown University. He is a CPA and holds the FINRA Series 7 and 63 securities licenses.
In his spare time David enjoys writing science fiction novels, playing the piano, and working with his non-profit Urban Renewal Foundation to assist entrepreneurs in developing countries.
